Ever think of writing your own blog? Well, this post is going to give you tips and pointers on how to do so! Today’s blog will be a class assignment for “Writing for Marketing Communications”. The blog will discuss feelings on previous class discussions on blogging and my thoughts on entering the “blogosphere”. I will also give you all the tips and tricks you need in order to be successful while writing your blog.
Firstly, I would like to discuss what I learned about the format and why it’s important for a successful blog. Capitalizing only the first word of your headline may seem weird to some but in fact, you treat the headline you would a sentence only leaving out the period. You should also use block format to make the blog easier to read for the viewer and keep your sentences to 30 words or less to avoid run-on sentences.
The structure is also extremely important when writing your blog in many ways such as properly using your headline and hook. Your blogs headline should be attention grabbing so that your blog and content within will stand out to other blogs that may be similar. Having a boring headline won’t make people want to read on. Another important aspect of the structure is having a good hook. A hook is the first sentence of your blog and it should as well be attention-grabbing. If your reader isn’t sure what they will be reading about within the first sentence, it may not encourage them to read on.
lastly, it’s important that the content of your blog is factual, true and easy to read for the viewers. Content used on your blog that makes references to facts or statistics should be cited to avoid plagiarism. It’s important you use content that the reader will enjoy reading about and that you keep that content related to your heading.
I hope you all learned something about writing your own blog today and I couldn’t be happier to write regularly to my readers and hope that one day that I have a fanbase that can rely on my blogs for entertainment, politics and interesting information. Be sure to check out some of my other blog posts and leave a comment on what YOU want to hear about next!
